Catoctin Mountain Area

My wife and I took a run up to the Catoctin Mountain Orchard which is a lovely fruit and vegetable stand on the side of Highway 15, just north of Thurmont, Maryland. We can recommend it.
Just a short distance south of the Orchard, Roddy Creek Road heads east. If you follow it down a mile or so, you'll come to an old covered bridge. There is some pretty scenery along that road that is worth your photographic attention.
South of Thurmont, there is Cunningham Falls State Park. Just a short distance inside the entrance, you can find the start of a trail leading to the Catoctin Iron Furnace. Once again, very pretty and of interest to the industrial archeologist. Here's a few shots from our fall visit.
